How to view and type Japanese characters

Mac OS X
OS X comes with the Japanese character sets already enabled for viewing Japanese. Info on how to type in Japanese can be found here: Christopher Bolton's Japanese for Your Mac.

Microsoft Windows

If you can view webpages with Japanese characters on them, chances are you can probably input them via the keyboard. Below are a few resources that you can use to enable this Japaense support on your computer. If done correctly, the box above this one should have the reading 'renshuu', or 'practice'.
